The Great Eastern Life Planners Association (“GELPA”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting the personal data of our members and visitors in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) of Singapore.

When you apply for GELPA membership, we collect:

• Full name, sex, and date of birth
• NRIC number
• Mobile phone number and email address
• IAC code, rank, director / reporting manager
• How you heard about GELPA and referral information

When you use the member portal, we may also collect usage data such as login timestamps and shift sign-up records.

We collect and use your personal data to:

• Process and administer your GELPA membership
• Verify your identity and eligibility
• Communicate with you about GELPA events, roadshows, and member benefits
• Manage shift sign-ups and event attendance
• Maintain membership records and statistics
• Comply with legal and regulatory obligations

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. We may share your data with:

• GELPA committee members and administrators, on a need-to-know basis
• Great Eastern Life Assurance, for the purpose of verifying IAC membership
• Service providers who assist us in operating our membership platform (e.g. cloud hosting, email delivery), under strict data processing agreements
• Regulatory or law enforcement authorities where required by law

We retain your personal data for as long as your membership is active and for up to 5 years thereafter, or as required by applicable law. When data is no longer needed, it will be securely deleted or anonymised.

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and password-protected systems.

Under the PDPA, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal data
• Withdraw consent for the use of your personal data (note: withdrawal may affect your membership)
• Request deletion of your data where it is no longer necessary

Our website uses only functional cookies necessary for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
